Índigo (2020), is a piece for symphonic orchestra. Written for the CvA Symfonieorkest. It is the latest orchestral project by Sílvia. In this piece, she explores the warm and powerful qualities of sound in the orchestra. The piece will be performed twice in The Netherlands. Both at TivoliVredenburg on the 26th of March, and at Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ, on the 29th of March.
We are delighted to express our sincere appreciation for the last news coming from Alba Rosa Viëtor Foundation. Sílvia Lanao has won the First prize in the biannual Composition Contest, which was celebrated in Concertgebouw the latest Sunday, the 2nd of December. The piece ”Empordà” was cited for its complexity and well-conceived structure, homaging Shostakovich and Josep Maria de Segarra in an intimate musical piece. Furthermore, the awarded piece was splendrous interpreted by Amatis Piano Trio and the soprano Katharine Dain.
Sílvia is graduating. The Composer’s Festival is a platform for all the composition students of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam who graduate each year. This year the festival celebrates 10 years and will host 9 graduating students from the Conservatory. Sílvia is one of them, as she is finishing her bachelor studies. She will have a premiere for two pieces, Nerium at the Orgelpark and Magnetite at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
